Garden Design: Central Park

It's hard to be a gardener when you live in New York City but great gardens are all around us. Cooper-Hewitt and Central Park Conservancy have partnered to give  a deeper appreciation to the thought that goes into NYC's park maintenance and how their caretakers see their space as a blank canvas for design.

Garden Design: The Art of Color, Variety and Form

At this event you can join the curator and gardeners from the Central Park Conservancy for a talk about the landscape design of the Central Park Conservatory Gardens and how it compliments and contrasts with Frederick Law Olmsted's overall design for Central Park. Learn about how the elements of form and color are rethought and refreshed each year within the garden's formal planting structure. Hear how the redesign strategies offer the public new and unique views from season to season.

Date:
Wednesday, June 26, 2013 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Event Address:
111 Central Park North, Harlem Meer,
