Service Changes Due To Hurricane Sandy, NYC

All NYC parks, playgrounds, beaches, and recreation centers are closed until further notice due to hazardous conditions. The winds are still strong and the hurricane has compromised many of the trees inside parks and along sidewalks.

To report a tree issue, please call 311 or text 311-692, or submit an online forestry service request. 911 is reserved for emergency calls ONLY.

The Parks Department is hard at work addressing emergency conditions and assessing damage by carefully inspecting all properties. They will determine when it is once again safe for you, your family, and pets to visit.

As you know, this is an extremely serious situation. Once again, for your safety, NYC Parks Dept. strongly urges you to stay out of the parks, playgrounds, and beaches until further notice.
